A white laundry wall is converted with playful motifs from nature
A white wall in Andrea Kurth’s laundry had always bugged her, calling the gap “so simple”.
The Taupiri neighborhood wanted to do something that could be painted on pinnacle of the existing coat of Resene Black White, instead of repainting the wall absolutely. A few work of art on Pinterest aligned along with her imaginative and prescient, so she bought a swag of Resene testpots.
“I spent about an hour looking backwards and forwards between the Pinterest work of art, a picture of the rug in the laundry and the swatches,” Andrea admits, earlier than eventually settling on the colors of Resene Rock Spray, Resene Gondwana, Resene Paper Doll, Resene Fuel Yellow and Resene Half Escape.
Andrea drew a difficult outline and painted her dream mural –a swirling colourscape of pattern and information from nature.
“The area now has a few personality with the pop of colour among the combination of white painted plasterboard and black stained ply,” says Andrea, noting that it perfectly fits her existing rug and laundry bog down cupboard. “If I’m going to be caught cleansing and doing laundry, then I’m glad it’s here,” she says.
